Cambridge Firefighters Rescue Kitten Stuck in Tree for Over 36 Hours
Firefighters in Cambridge successfully rescued a kitten trapped in a tree for more than 36 hours, bringing relief to its worried owners

Cambridge: A little seven-month-old kitten found itself in quite the pickle after climbing a tree and getting stuck for over 36 hours. This happened in Trumpington on a chilly Wednesday night.
It all started early in the morning when the curious kitten decided to explore the heights of a tree in a residential area. But, oh no! It climbed all the way to the top, about five stories high, and got stranded.
Despite the best efforts of its owners and some concerned neighbors trying to coax it down with food and gentle calls, the scared little furball just kept climbing higher. It was a real nail-biter as the kitten ended up in a pretty precarious spot.
As the hours ticked by and the temperature dropped, the poor thing was without food or water. It started to look weaker, and the worried owners were terrified it might fall and get hurt.
Then, the cavalry arrived! Two fire crews from Cambridge and Cottenham showed up, ready to save the day. They brought a turntable ladder to reach the kitten’s lofty perch.
Meanwhile, another team stood below with a life net, just in case the little one took a tumble. After some careful maneuvering, the firefighters managed to capture the kitten in a special safety sack and brought it down to the cheers of everyone watching.
Luckily, a local vet was there among the crowd and checked the kitten right away. Thankfully, it had no injuries, just a bit of stress and hunger. The vet said the little guy was thrilled to be back with its family and wasted no time digging into a delicious meal.
The owners were beyond grateful to the firefighters for their quick and skilled rescue. They really saved their beloved pet’s life!
