Angelina, only 17, was found with multiple stab wounds at a home in Azusa on the night of December 20. Her family said her ex-boyfriend picked her up from a cheerleading banquet that evening.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a bloody crime scene. Sadly, Angelina was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Her stepfather, Robert Caraballo, arrived at the scene and was devastated. He had been worried when she didn’t come home and tracked her phone to her ex-boyfriend’s house.
He recalled seeing the crime scene tape and feeling helpless. He had warned Angelina to stay away from her ex, but she always believed in the good in him.
While the suspect hasn’t been named, he’s confirmed to be an 18-year-old acquaintance of Angelina. He’s now in custody, and the case is being handled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Her family described her as a bright, passionate girl who loved cheerleading and had just started wrestling. They’re left with a void that’s hard to fill.
