Miami: Heading into Week 17, there was buzz that the Dolphins might let go of defensive lineman Calais Campbell if they were out of playoff contention. But they pulled off a win against the Browns, keeping their playoff hopes alive for the final game against the Jets.

Campbell is sticking around to help the team chase that last playoff spot in the AFC. However, he’s also thinking about what might happen if they don’t make it. As he wraps up his 17th season, he was asked if he’s considered that Sunday could be his last game in the NFL.

“Yeah, I’ve thought about it a lot,” Campbell shared. “I usually don’t make decisions during the season. I prefer to wait until the offseason to really think it through. But I know there’s a chance I could play again. It’s not a sure thing that I’m done, but I have to treat this like it could be my last game. That thought hits hard. I love this game and have given so much to it, so the idea that this could be the end is wild. I’m going to give it my all and finish strong.”

He mentioned that this isn’t the first time he’s had these thoughts as a season wraps up. So, while he’s unsure about his future, his mindset for this weekend remains the same, no matter what happens.
