Reading: Karak Chai Indian café has two locations in Reading. One is on Broad Street, and the other is on Wokingham Road.

Now, they’re getting ready to open a third café. This new spot will be at the old Milan beauty salon on Oxford Road.

Karak Chai has applied for a license to open from 8 am to 11 pm, Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, they plan to open from 9 am to 11 pm.

They also want to play recorded music during these hours. A consultation about this application is currently happening.

If you want to share your thoughts, you can email licensing@reading.gov.uk. The deadline for comments is Thursday, February 27.

The Milan beauty salon has moved to 270-274 Oxford Road, still in the same area.

Karak Chai took over the spot that used to be Wolf Italian Street Food in 2023. That same year, they opened their Wokingham Road café, taking over from Khan’s Karahi and the Afghan Restaurant.

Wolf Italian Street Food still operates at 250 South Oak Way, Green Park.
