The inspections will check various areas, including low traffic zones and ramps. Footpaths near the West Street ramps will also close during the first week.
Pedestrian diversions will be set up for safety. After February 10, expect lane and road closures that will affect traffic flow.
Full traffic management plans will be available online. Bus services on Paisley Road West and Broomielaw will see changes too.
Amey will conduct these inspections to ensure the bridge’s safety. Engineers will use special equipment to access the structures.
They perform routine checks each year to maintain safety. This new inspection program will help plan future maintenance.
Road users and pedestrians are thanked for their patience during this work. Be aware of other roadworks in the M8 area.
If you enter the Low Emission Zone during diversions, follow the signs. Ignoring them may lead to fines from the city council.
The plan was made with input from Transport Scotland and local authorities. Emergency vehicles will still have access during the work.
Keep in mind that weather can affect the schedule, so plans may change.
