Tasmania: A tragic situation is unfolding as a bushwalker has fallen to his death in Tasmania. This comes while search efforts are still ongoing for a university student who went missing in New South Wales.
The student, Hadi Nazari, 23, was last seen on December 26 while hiking in Kosciuszko National Park. His friends reported him missing when he didn’t return to the campground as expected.
Search teams have been scouring the area but haven’t found any sign of him yet. Local police and emergency services jumped into action that night, but the rugged terrain has made things tough.
Hadi’s sister is understandably worried and said she feels like screaming from the anxiety of not knowing where he is. She’s been looking at his pictures and praying for his safe return.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a bushwalker in his thirties tragically fell to his death at Federation Peak in Tasmania. This marks the third bushwalker fatality in the area over the Christmas holidays.
Authorities say the man was hiking with his partner and another woman when he fell. They activated a personal beacon, which helped emergency services locate him quickly, but sadly, he didn’t survive.
Inspector Colin Riley from Tasmania Police noted that Federation Peak is one of the toughest hikes in the state. He urged everyone to take safety precautions, like carrying personal locator beacons and being prepared for changing conditions.
