Cork, Ireland, Bus Éireann, Traffic Incident

Cork: Last night, there was a little bump between two Bus Éireann buses on one of the busiest streets. Thankfully, no one got hurt, which is a relief.

The incident happened just after 6:30 pm on Patrick’s Street. The glass on one bus’s exit door got smashed, and the other bus had some minor damage. But all in all, it could have been worse.

After the crash, both buses were taken out of service. Passengers were quickly moved to the next available bus, so they weren’t left stranded. Traffic in the area wasn’t affected, and both buses were able to leave the scene pretty quickly.

A spokesperson for Bus Éireann confirmed the minor collision and reassured everyone that safety is their top priority. They’re looking into how this happened, as they always do in these situations.

Recently, Bus Éireann has been running on a reduced schedule in Cork due to a new temporary timetable. They’ve cut about 800 weekday services and around 250 weekend ones. They’re also working hard to recruit and train new drivers to help fill those gaps.
