Leeds: The crowdfunding effort for Burley Park has been a hit! It gathered support from 28 generous folks, raising a total of £1,930. That’s more than the £1,765 target!

With this extra cash, they’re planning to buy a ‘Park Welcome map’ for the last entrance that doesn’t have one. How cool is that?

The campaign is still open until midnight on January 8, so if you want to chip in and help out, now’s your chance!

A big shoutout to everyone who donated, whether it was £5 or a bit more. Every little bit helps!

Mark your calendars! The next volunteer session for Friends of Burley Park is on Sunday, January 12, from 10 am to 12 pm at the bandstand.

This month, they’ll be replacing some damaged trees in the park. Thanks to the Leeds City Council Woodland Creation Scheme, they’ll be planting 12 new trees!

The Rangers will be there to lend a hand, but if you prefer something lighter, they’ve got some bulbs to plant too. Just let them know!

And keep an eye out for events celebrating their 125th anniversary this year. If you want park updates straight to your inbox, don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter!
