Buckie: A sad story unfolded recently when a 78-year-old woman lost her life after a crash involving her car and a lorry. The accident took place on the A98 around lunchtime on January 14.

Sadly, she passed away three days later in the hospital. Her Nissan Micra collided with a heavy goods vehicle, and the lorry driver, a 58-year-old man, has been arrested for a road traffic offence.

After the crash, the woman was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment but, unfortunately, she didn’t make it. Sergeant Lesley Morrison expressed condolences to the family and mentioned they need privacy during this tough time.

The A98 was closed for about 12 hours while investigators looked into the scene. It reopened early the next morning. Morrison also urged anyone with information or dash-cam footage to reach out, as every little detail could help.

If you have any info, you can call Police Scotland at 101 and mention incident number 1279 from January 14.
