Browns Shock Fans by Waiving Kadarius Toney and Placing Star Cornerback on IR
In a surprising move, the Browns have waived Kadarius Toney and placed Greg Newsome on injured reserve, shaking up their roster just weeks before the season ends.

Toney joined the Browns’ practice squad in September after being let go by the Chiefs. He was on the practice squad for most of the season but got bumped up to the 53-man roster last weekend. Unfortunately, he only managed to average 11 yards on four punt returns and had a couple of carries that went nowhere.
On top of that, cornerback Greg Newsome is now on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury he picked up during the same game. That’s a bummer for the team since it means he’s done for the season. He had a solid year with an interception and five passes defended.
The Browns are also bringing in some new faces. They signed Kaden Davis, Jaelen Gill, Julian Pearl, and kicker Riley Patterson to the practice squad. Patterson’s signing is pretty crucial since their current kicker, Dustin Hopkins, has been struggling this season. He’s missed nine field goals already, which is a big drop from last year’s 92 percent success rate.
Lastly, they’ve let go of defensive tackle Michael Dwumfour from the practice squad. It’s definitely a shake-up for the team as they try to regroup for the final stretch of the season.
