San Francisco: The 49ers have had their fair share of intense December games lately, but this year feels different. They’re not in the same strong position as before.

Last Sunday, they finally broke a three-game losing streak by beating the Bears. But they’re still struggling at 6-7 as they gear up for a big game against the Rams. Brock Purdy, the quarterback, stressed that they need to keep that same urgency they had against Chicago for the rest of the season.

Purdy said, “We can’t just think about the end goal. We need to focus on today, tomorrow, and each play as it comes. We have to be in the moment and play like we’re desperate because we can’t afford to lose.”

It’s tough to maintain that level of intensity, but the 49ers have been in playoff situations before. They know how to keep their heads in the game when it really counts. We’ll see soon if they can pull it off this year too.
