The highlight? Bristol’s own Jayde Adams will be headlining. She’s a big deal, having won the Edinburgh Fringe Best Newcomer award. Jayde will wrap up the festival on January 25 at Dareshack, trying out some new material.
And it all kicks off with a FREE launch party at Bambalan on January 12 at 8 PM. There’s a mix of shows lined up, from the hilarious “Roast Battle” to improv nights at Mr Wolf’s. There’s something for everyone!
The festival also introduces Bristol’s first comedy competition, with prizes up to £1,000. It’s going to be exciting, with audience votes and an industry panel deciding the winners. The grand finale is on January 24 at Bristol Folk House.
Vicky Lee from Bristol City Centre BID says this festival is a fantastic addition to the city’s cultural scene. It’s a great way to enjoy some laughs while supporting local venues and the hospitality sector.
The festival is also teaming up with TAP for Bristol, a charity that helps tackle homelessness. They’ll have contactless donation points at venues, making it easy for everyone to contribute.
Co-founder Harry Allmark emphasizes that this festival is all about showcasing Bristol’s comedy talent. It’s a mix of well-known acts and fresh voices, creating a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates the city’s creativity.
