Right now, getting from Marve to Manori is a bit of a hassle. You have to travel about 29 kilometers, and during rush hour, it can take nearly two hours. But with this new bridge, that distance will shrink to just 1.5 kilometers! How cool is that? The bridge will be around 410 meters long and will have three pillars spaced out nicely.
There was some pushback from local fishermen who were worried about their livelihoods. But after a public hearing earlier this year, they looked at different options and settled on a design that minimizes the impact on the mangroves.
Of course, some mangroves will need to be cleared for the project, but they’re planning to plant three times that amount elsewhere. The project has to follow strict environmental guidelines, and they’ll be keeping a close eye on everything to make sure it’s done right.
So, it looks like this bridge is going to make life a lot easier for everyone in the area. Exciting times ahead!
