Brentwood man faces charges after high-speed Route 101 chase leads to trooper crash

Exeter: A Brentwood guy is in hot water after a crazy high-speed chase on Route 101. It all started when Trooper Shane McClure spotted a Toyota Camry zooming by at 131 mph. The speed limit there? Just 65 mph.

Michael P. Holt, 56, is now facing some serious charges, including reckless conduct and aggravated DUI. Trooper McClure tried to pull him over, but Holt just kept speeding away.

Things took a turn when McClure got into a rollover crash while chasing Holt. Thankfully, he only had minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

After the chase continued, police finally found Holt’s car on Middle Road. Even with deflated tires, he kept driving like a maniac. At one point, he even drove the wrong way on the highway!

Eventually, he lost control and rolled his car into the woods. Troopers surrounded him, broke a window, and got him out. Holt was taken to the hospital for a check-up and then booked into jail.

The chase caused quite a mess, closing Route 101 for a couple of hours. The investigation is still ongoing, and police are asking anyone with info to reach out.
