Brent: This January, residents are in for a bit of a hassle with several road closures. A key road in Wembley is going to be shut down for a whopping 18 weeks for some urgent drainage work.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, there are quite a few closures happening this month. Some roads will be closed for just a few days, while others will be out of commission for weeks or even months. This could really mess with traffic, so folks might need to find new routes to get around.

The big one is Wembley High Road, which will be closed to vehicles starting January 13 for about 18 weeks. They’re hoping to wrap up the repairs by mid-May. On the bright side, Lydford Road in Willesden will finally reopen at the end of the month after being closed since mid-November for water work.

So, if you’re in the area, keep an eye out for detours to avoid getting stuck in traffic. Here’s a quick rundown of the road closures happening in January:

Chapter Road (Dollis Hill) will be closed from January 7 to 13 for water work. Neasden Lane North (Neasden) is shut from January 2 to 17 for gas work. Cumberland Avenue (Park Royal) is closed from November 14, 2024, to January 20, 2025, for water work. Pebworth Road (Sudbury) will be closed from January 9 to 13 for water work, and Eton Avenue (Wembley) will be closed from January 7 to 10 for road work.

There are also closures on Repton Avenue, Llanover Road, and Corringham Road in Wembley, all for various works. So, if you’re planning to drive around Brent, make sure to check for updates and plan your route accordingly!
