Birmingham: So, guess what? Prince William just popped into a Wetherspoons for a pint after meeting some amazing paramedics. How cool is that?
He was in town to support the College of Paramedics and had a good chat with the first responders. They talked about everything from training to hospital wait times. After thanking them for their support regarding Kate’s health, he joked about checking out the pub nearby to see if any Aston Villa fans were around.
When he walked into The London and North Western pub, everyone was stunned. He greeted the locals and even ordered a pint of cider while waiting for his train back to London. Remember when Mike Tindall called him ‘One Pint Willy’? Classic!
Earlier, at the conference, William, who used to be an air ambulance pilot, shared some laughs with paramedics about the job’s pressures and new tech. He was in Birmingham ahead of the Aston Villa game against Everton.
He even spotted an old mate from his RAF days and joked about their last encounter on a beach. It was all very light-hearted and fun.
During his speech, he expressed how thrilled he was to be the new Patron of the College of Paramedics. He praised the paramedics for their hard work and adaptability, saying it’s not just a job but a calling.
After the event, the CEO of the College thanked him and sent best wishes to Kate. It was a nice moment, showing how much support there is in the community.
William also chatted with a new paramedic about the exciting journey ahead. They discussed using drones to deliver defibrillators, which is pretty innovative. He joked that there will still be a need for people on the ground, so paramedics are safe for now!
The College of Paramedics has over 20,000 members and focuses on improving standards and mental health support for paramedics. They even got a Royal Charter from the King last year. Pretty impressive!
