Merthyr Tydfil: So, there’s this wild story about a drug dealer named Iestyn Raven, who got caught on camera acting all broke while he was actually waving around a bunch of cash. Can you believe that?
He was on a call with someone from the Universal Credit helpline, saying he was “struggling for money.” Meanwhile, he’s got a wad of cash in his hand, pretending it’s a phone. Talk about a bad look!
Police were already onto him because he was running a drug line called the “Ronnie and Reggie” line, named after those infamous Kray twins. They found a stash of cocaine worth about £1,000 and even some zombie knives at his place.
They tracked him down after a 17-year-old dealer using his line got arrested. When they raided Iestyn’s girlfriend’s house, they found all sorts of evidence linking him to the drug trade.
During the court hearing, they played a video of him chatting about his Universal Credit application while holding cash to his ear. It was just too much!
In court, he admitted to dealing drugs and having criminal property. The judge wasn’t having it, especially since Iestyn had a history of trouble with the law.
He claimed he got into dealing because he was in a tough spot after losing his job at an Aston Martin factory. But the judge still sentenced him to 40 months in prison. It’s a crazy situation all around!
