Oldbury: A boy was taken to the hospital after a car hit him. This happened on Birchfield Lane around 3:55 PM. It sounds pretty serious, but thankfully, his injuries aren’t life-threatening.
Paramedics were quick to respond and treated him right there before rushing him to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. The police were also on the scene, making sure everything was under control.
A spokesperson from the West Midlands Ambulance Service said they got the call about the accident and sent an ambulance along with a paramedic officer. When they arrived, they found the boy and took care of him.
After the incident, Birchfield Lane was blocked in both directions, which caused some delays. The number 4 bus had to be diverted, so folks were advised to plan ahead and find alternative routes.
West Midlands Roads even posted a heads-up on social media, warning drivers about the road closure and suggesting they allow extra time for their journeys. It’s always good to stay informed!
