Stoke-on-Trent: A 17-year-old boy got himself into serious trouble when police stopped his Fiat Punto. They found a potentially lethal handgun hidden in the driver’s door. Along with that, they also discovered a machete and a BB gun.

This all went down on June 24 last year. The police had received reports about the car being driven erratically, which led to the stop. It was a pretty intense situation.

When they searched the car, they found the handgun and bullets tucked away. They also found three car keys, one of which belonged to the Fiat. The driver, who can’t be named because he’s underage, was arrested right there.

DNA tests on the gun matched the boy, and he was charged. He ended up pleading guilty to having a firearm and ammunition without a certificate. That’s a big deal.

After his guilty plea, he’s been remanded and is waiting for sentencing on February 19. It’s a serious situation for someone so young.

Detective Sergeant Marc Proctor from Staffordshire Police said this weapon could have caused serious harm. He emphasized that they’re working hard to keep the streets safe and are gathering intelligence to tackle organized crime in the area.

It’s good to know that the police are on top of things, making sure the community stays safe.
