Swindon: So, there was this wild situation where a teenage boy got arrested after making a fake call about a stabbing. He’s just 16 and thought it would be funny or something.

The call came in on a Monday night, and the police took it super seriously. They sent out a ton of emergency responders, including air ambulances and a doctor. It was a big deal!

But then, after some digging, they figured out it was probably a hoax. The police went to the kid’s house and arrested him for messing around with the emergency system. He’s out now but still under investigation.

Luckily, the critical care team was called off before they got to the scene. But other ambulances and officers still showed up, thinking someone was in real trouble.

Chief Superintendent Douglas Downing said this kind of prank is just reckless. He pointed out that these calls can really mess with emergency services, making it harder for them to help people who actually need it.

Wayne Darch from the ambulance service added that they’re already stretched thin. Hoax calls waste time and resources that could save lives. It’s a big deal when every second counts.

Adam Baker from the air ambulance charity chimed in too, saying making a fake call is a crime. It takes away resources from real emergencies and can even cost lives. So, it’s really important to use these services responsibly.
