Colchester: A five-year-old boy named Freddie Farrow died in a tragic accident. He was looking at his reflection when an 8ft mirror fell on him.

The incident happened in a Fenwick store on July 27, 2021. CCTV showed Freddie touching the mirror just before it fell.

The mirror weighed between 132 and 176 pounds. It hit Freddie on the head, causing a severe brain injury.

When police arrived, they found broken glass and a lot of blood. A detective noted that the mirror must have been unstable.

Freddie’s mother, Natasha, described him as cheeky and funny. His father, Andrew, said it feels like part of their world is missing.

The inquest into Freddie’s death is ongoing and expected to last several days.
