17-Year-Old Arrested After Fatal Crash Claims Two Teen Lives
A tragic New Year’s Day crash in Hull leaves two teens dead and several others injured, prompting an arrest of a 17-year-old driver.

Hull: A 17-year-old boy was arrested after a tragic crash on New Year’s Day that took the lives of two teenagers. It was a heartbreaking end to the celebrations.
The accident happened when a grey VW Golf and a black Vauxhall Grandland collided head-on on Staithes Road around 1:20 AM. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but sadly, a 16-year-old boy died right there.
Another young man, 18 years old, was taken to the hospital but didn’t make it. Two other passengers, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were also hurt and are currently in the hospital. The girl is in critical but stable condition, while the boy is serious but stable.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a 34-year-old woman, suffered a badly injured arm and was hospitalized too. A 62-year-old man who was with her is recovering from injuries that are no longer life-threatening.
In total, two other passengers had minor injuries from this serious collision. The 17-year-old driver of the Volkswagen has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He’s been released on bail as the investigation continues.
Humberside Police are supporting the families who lost their loved ones during this tough time and are asking for any dashcam footage from the crash. It’s a heartbreaking situation for everyone involved.
