New Orleans: The Allstate Sugar Bowl has been pushed back after a horrific incident on New Year’s Day. A man drove his truck into a crowd, causing chaos and heartbreak.

The game, originally set for tonight, will now take place tomorrow evening. Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley announced the new kickoff time will be at 4 p.m. Eastern. It’s a big deal since it’s a quarterfinal in the College Football Playoff.

This postponement follows a tragic event where 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar drove through barricades on Bourbon Street. Sadly, at least 10 people lost their lives, and over 30 were hurt.

Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick described the attack as intentional, emphasizing that Jabbar seemed determined to cause harm. Two officers were also injured but are reportedly stable.

The FBI is treating this as a terrorist act and is investigating further, including checking for any explosives in the area. It’s a tough time for the city, and everyone is hoping for healing and safety moving forward.
