Washington: So, here’s the scoop. Both kickers for the Commanders, Zane Gonzalez and his backup Greg Joseph, missed practice recently. And guess what? It’s for a really good reason. Their wives were in labor!

Coach Dan Quinn shared the news with reporters, saying it was all about family. He joked about how exciting it was for both families. It’s not every day you get to welcome a new baby, right?

Both guys got married this year and were expecting their first sons. How cool is that? Zane’s wife, Lizzy, already had their baby boy, while we’re still waiting to hear about Greg’s wife, Taylor.

Now, here’s the thing: kickers usually don’t start kicking until later in the week. So, there’s still hope for the Commanders. But if both kickers can’t make it by Sunday’s game against the Eagles, punter Tress Way might have to step in.

Funny enough, Tress mentioned he practices kicking field goals just once a year, and he did that last week. He’s got a decent range, too, up to 40-45 yards. So, fingers crossed!

The Commanders are sitting at 9-5 right now, which is pretty solid for a playoff spot. But they’ve got some competition with the Rams and Seahawks right on their tails. It’s going to be an interesting finish to the season!
