Glendale: So, the 49ers just had a rough game against the Cardinals, losing 47-24. It was a tough day, and a lot of folks are pointing fingers at defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen.

After the game, linebacker Fred Warner said it’s not just Sorensen’s fault. He thinks the players need to step up too. “It’s easy to blame him,” Warner said, “but it’s on all of us.”

Nick Bosa, the star edge rusher, didn’t hold back either. He called the season “embarrassing” and was pretty neutral when asked about Sorensen. “He’s a good coach,” Bosa said, “but that’s not my decision.”

Bosa’s had a tough season, with only nine sacks so far, which is his lowest since his rookie year. Injuries have hit the team hard, but both Bosa and Warner aren’t using that as an excuse.

Warner had 115 tackles this season, but it wasn’t enough to turn things around. He’s planning to do some serious self-reflection during the break. “Everyone has to look in the mirror,” he said. “We didn’t do [Sorensen] any favors.”

Now, Coach Shanahan has a few days to think about what changes, if any, he’ll make to the coaching staff for next season. It’s a lot to consider.
