Bombay HC Grants 28-Day Furlough To Gangster Arun Gawli In Murder Case
The Bombay High Court has granted a 28-day furlough to Arun Gawli, a gangster serving life for murder, after his petition was approved.
Arun Gawli, Nagpur, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Murder Case
His lawyer had to step in because the prison authorities had turned down his earlier request. They were worried that letting him out might stir up trouble. But Gawli’s lawyer argued that he didn’t cause any issues during his previous furloughs.
Plus, Gawli pointed out that the Maharashtra assembly elections were already done, so there shouldn’t be any worries on that front. The court listened to his side and agreed to his release, but they did set some conditions.
Gawli isn’t just a gangster; he’s also a politician. He used to be an MLA in Mumbai and is known for his roots in Dagdi Chawl. He was convicted for the murder of a Shiv Sena corporator, Kamlakar Jamsandekar, and got a life sentence back in 2012.
