The victim was identified as Zhuojun “Sally” Li, just 33 years old. Her husband, Jai-Bao “Rex” Chen, is also 33 and is now a person of interest in the case. Authorities are really worried about him.
Zhuojun was reported missing earlier this month after her mom couldn’t get in touch with her. It’s heartbreaking to think about what her family must be going through.
Emergency services were called to a park in Botany early Monday morning after someone spotted the body. The detectives believe it’s likely she was murdered, but they’re still piecing together the timeline.
Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty mentioned that they’re treating her as a “mystery woman” for now. They’re asking anyone who might know a missing woman to come forward. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
Police have released a description of Jai-Bao, saying he’s of Asian descent, around 165 to 170 cm tall, with a slim build, black hair, and brown eyes. They’re also looking for a silver Toyota Avensis that was seen in the area around the time of the incident.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the car or the driver to step up. The case is still under investigation, and they’re hoping for some leads soon.
