Chelmsford: It’s a sad day in Essex. The body of a man named Cumali Turhan was found at a landfill site. He had been missing for quite a while.
Cumali, 46, was last seen at The Globe pub on November 19. His family was worried sick, fearing the worst. After 45 long days of searching, police finally discovered his remains.
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe mentioned that the investigation has been tough. They’re still piecing together what happened.
There’s a man named Ceyhan Dinler who left the UK on the same day Cumali went missing. He’s wanted for questioning. Then there’s Ciprian Ilie, who’s been charged with helping an offender. He appeared in court recently, looking pretty emotional.
Ilie denied the charges against him, including preventing a proper burial. He’s set to stand trial next year.
Police believe Cumali might have been at another bar after The Globe, but there’s no footage of him leaving. He was reported missing when he didn’t show up for work that day.
