Body of Man Found Dead in Rivington Field Identified by Police Update
Police have identified a man found dead in Rivington after a year-long investigation, providing closure to his family.

Rivington: So, there’s been a big update about that man whose body was found in a field last year. The police have finally identified him after a long investigation.
They found him in Dean Brook, close to Horrobin Lane, on December 7, 2023. At first, they thought he was between 40 and 50 years old, and he had on a pretty unique Casio watch.
Good news is, they don’t think his death was suspicious. They even shared photos of his jacket and boots, hoping someone would recognize them. They also put out an appeal on a show called Cause of Death.
Fast forward to January 14, and the police announced that they’ve identified him after a year of digging into the case. They didn’t share his name, as his family requested privacy, but they did say they’re thinking of them during this tough time.
It took a lot of work, including help from other police forces and even Interpol. They used facial recognition, fingerprints, and DNA to finally figure out who he was. Thankfully, he can now be reunited with his family.
DI Paul Price from South CID expressed gratitude to the public for their help over the past year. It’s a relief to know that the man has been identified, and it’s a step towards closure for his loved ones.
