Watford: So, there’s been a pretty shocking discovery on the M1. A body was found on the side of the road, and it’s got everyone talking. The police confirmed it was a man, and they found him in some undergrowth on Monday afternoon.
Right now, they’re treating the death as “unexplained.” The motorway was closed off between junctions five and six around 3 PM while they figured things out. It’s a busy stretch, so you can imagine the traffic chaos.
Hertfordshire Police released a statement saying they were called after the body was discovered. They’re working hard to find out what happened and will be around the area for a while longer.

By the way, the southbound lanes reopened around 6:30 PM, but the northbound took a bit longer, with one lane still closed. Drivers faced some serious delays, up to 90 minutes, which is no fun at all.
National Highways East tweeted that the police have wrapped up their investigation on the northbound side, but they’re keeping one lane closed for safety. It’s been a hectic day on the roads for sure!
