Forfar: So, there’s some interesting news from Angus! A glamping site that features a boat for guests to stay in has just been given the green light. It’s located at Nether Finlarg, which is a bit inland, between Forfar and Dundee.

The guy behind it, Henry Rymer, applied for four glamping units, including that boat, a tent, a pod, and a cabin. Plus, there’s a shower and toilet block for guests, which is pretty handy.

He mentioned that the spot offers a “unique and picturesque glamping experience,” and it seems the planning officials agreed. They said the units would fit nicely into the landscape without causing any major issues.

On another note, there was a proposal for an eco-friendly home in Newtyle that didn’t make the cut. The plan was to build a three-bedroom house in the garden of an old cottage, which has been spruced up over the years.

But there were some objections, mainly about flood risks and losing garden space. The officials pointed out that part of the plot could be at risk of flooding, and the house’s angle didn’t quite match the village’s layout.

So, while the glamping boat is all set to welcome guests, the eco home idea has been put on hold for now. Quite the contrast, right?
