They mentioned that they’re following guidelines from both the Union and state health departments. As of now, no cases of HMPV have been found in the city. They even compared the numbers from December 2023 to December 2024 and found no significant rise in infections.
Experts are also weighing in, saying that while HMPV is a concern, it hasn’t led to a surge in hospital visits or flu-like symptoms. That’s good news for everyone, especially for parents with little ones or elderly family members.
Interestingly, there have been a few cases reported in other cities like Nagpur and Bengaluru, but nothing alarming in Mumbai. A lawyer even went to the Bombay High Court, asking them to take action and ensure the government is on top of things.
It looks like the court will hear this plea soon, and they’re pushing for more awareness about HMPV and its symptoms. So, fingers crossed that we stay safe and healthy this winter!
