Mumbai: The BMC has made some big moves to get the missing link road project in Chandivali rolling. They’ve cleared out some unauthorized structures near Anandibai Surve Garden, which were blocking the way. This new road will connect Vijay Fire Road to Khairani Road, making life a lot easier for folks in the area.

The project has been in the works for a while, and it’s about time! The BMC had to deal with five unauthorized buildings that were causing a real headache. But they’ve finally sorted it out. On January 9, 2024, those structures were taken down, and now the Roads Department can get to work.

Deputy Commissioner Devidas Kshirsagar and Assistant Commissioner Dhanaji Herlekar led the charge on this demolition. Thanks to their quick actions, the project is back on track. Right now, getting from Chandivali to places like Asalpha and Ghatkopar is a hassle. People have to take a long detour through Sakinaka Junction, which is no fun at all.

Once this new road is finished, it’ll connect Chandivali directly to Ghatkopar, cutting down travel time and easing traffic. It’s a much-needed upgrade for the area, and it shows that the BMC is serious about improving how we get around in Mumbai.

Residents are really looking forward to this project. It’s not just about making their daily commute easier; it’s also a step towards better development in their neighborhood.
