Accrington: So, there was this guy, Jack Dwyer, who thought it’d be a good idea to break into a sandwich shop. It happened on January 10, and he really messed things up.
Police got called when folks saw him smashing a window and grabbing cash from the register. Dwyer, who’s 23 and from Clayton-le-Moors, didn’t get far before the cops caught him.
The next day, he was in court, and guess what? He pleaded guilty. The judge wasn’t too happy and gave him four months in jail. His mugshot is something else, too—he’s got a black eye, but no one knows how he got it.
Local Sergeant Andy Thorpe said they’re relieved to have this guy off the streets. Burglaries can really hurt businesses, and they’re serious about tackling crime in the area.
