Birmingham: So, there’s been quite a stir at George Dixon Academy. They’re asking for a new Ofsted inspection after an inspector claimed he got kicked by a student. Sounds wild, right?

This all went down last month when the inspectors were visiting. One of them told the headteacher, Tutvinder Mann, that he had received a serious kick from a pupil. The school wasn’t having it, though.

They launched an internal investigation and checked the CCTV. Guess what? They found no evidence of any kick happening, even with the inspector surrounded by students.

Staff members were not impressed with the inspector’s behavior either. They described him as rude and arrogant, saying it made them feel pretty uncomfortable during their discussions.

In a letter to the Secretary of State for Education, the Chair of Governors, Sir Robert Dowling, expressed serious concerns. He called the inspector’s claims “nonsensical and malicious” towards a student.

He also pointed out that the inspector’s conduct seemed to breach professional standards. Staff felt disrespected and intimidated, which is definitely not how it should be during an inspection.

Now, the school is pushing for a fresh report and wants to make sure that their senior leaders’ written evidence is included in any ongoing Ofsted investigation.

Sir Robert confirmed to BirminghamLive that they’re in talks with Ofsted about this whole situation. Meanwhile, the Department for Education is keeping quiet while the investigation is still in progress.
