Birmingham: A crash in the city centre has left one person with serious injuries. It happened on Newhall Street, a busy route connecting the Jewellery Quarter and the city. The incident occurred around 2 PM on a Sunday.

Police quickly set up a cordon near the BT Tower, blocking off Newhall Street from Fleet Street to Lionel Street. Emergency services, including police cars and ambulances, were on the scene to assist.

Details about the injured person are still limited, but they were taken to the hospital. As of 4:30 PM, Newhall Street remained closed, and bus routes were being diverted to manage the situation.

Traffic seemed to be handling the diversions well, but there were reports of a damaged Uber and a couple of other cars involved in the crash. National Express West Midlands announced that their number 101 service would be rerouted due to the closures.

They shared the new route on social media, apologizing for any inconvenience caused. It’s always a hassle when these things happen, but safety comes first.
