Bidford: A ten-year-old girl has done something amazing. Emily Butler raised thousands for a hospice. She wanted to honor her dad on his birthday.

On January 25th, Emily held a coffee morning and raffle at Alcester Baptist Church. She aimed to support the Shakespeare Hospice in memory of her dad, Mark Butler, known as ‘Bud’.

Emily and her mom, Amy, worked hard. They got over 80 businesses to donate raffle prizes. These included a season ticket for Stratford Town FC and tickets for the Women’s Six Nations match.

Other prizes were an air fryer, slow cooker, motorcycle jacket, and more. They even had vouchers for ballet lessons and a £150 holiday.

So far, they’ve raised an impressive £3,524. The total keeps growing with cake sales and donations.

Emily, a student at St Nicholas Primary School, said she’s happy to help the hospice. Her mom, Amy, expressed pride in Emily’s efforts.

They are grateful to the Shakespeare Hospice team. They have supported Emily and Amy since losing Bud three years ago.

Bud was well-known in Alcester and played in the town band. The hospice also helps children through school visits and counseling.
