Benidorm: Andrew Frazer, a 43-year-old from St Helens, went to Benidorm for his brother’s birthday. Sadly, just hours after arriving, he was attacked and left with serious head injuries. His fiancée, Carrie, shared how this incident has turned their lives upside down.

After being knocked unconscious, Andrew was taken to a hospital but didn’t get the proper care he needed. He was sent back to his hotel without a CT scan, and his condition worsened. Eventually, he was diagnosed with a serious brain bleed, which led to a frantic fundraiser to get him back to the UK.

The family raised over £28,000 in just three days, but Andrew couldn’t fly home due to the severity of his injuries. Instead, he and Carrie endured a long 27-hour ambulance ride back to Merseyside. Miraculously, he was discharged from the hospital a few weeks later and is now walking again.

Carrie mentioned that while Andrew is making progress, he still struggles with speech and memory. They’re waiting for a neurologist appointment, but the waiting lists are long. She expressed how frustrating it is to see him wanting to return to normal life, like going to work or driving, but he can’t due to his injuries.

The couple is hopeful for Andrew’s recovery, but there are still many uncertainties ahead. Meanwhile, a suspect in the attack has been arrested but released on bail, leaving the family anxious about the ongoing investigation. It’s a tough road ahead, but they’re determined to keep pushing forward together.
