Bemerton Heath: A new defibrillator is now at the Bemerton Heath Centre. Local resident Spencer Mulholland and Cllr Caroline Corbin proposed this idea to the Salisbury City Council in December 2024. They wanted to improve health resources in the area.

The council’s community services team acted quickly. In less than two months, the Mindray BeneHeart C1A Defibrillator was installed. D&N Maintenance generously installed it for free.

Half of the defibrillator’s cost came from an anonymous donation. The community is very grateful for this support. This device is available for anyone who may face a cardiac emergency.

To use the defibrillator, just follow the instructions on the cabinet. Carolyn Port from Winterbury Training will hold information sessions at the centre on February 14 and 18.

Carolyn mentioned they offer free training on using defibrillators and CPR. She believes having more resources helps save lives. Spencer Mulholland expressed gratitude for the donation and support from the community.

Cllr Caroline Corbin highlighted the importance of having a community defibrillator. She noted that it’s easy to use, even without training. Spencer has been a key player in this project, ensuring the community has access to lifesaving equipment.

Sarah Gregson, Head of Community Services, said the centre is a hub for many groups. People will know where to find the defibrillator when needed. Spencer is already planning his next defibrillator project and welcomes any help with locations or fundraising.
