Burton: The Beggars Reach Hotel was sold again recently. It was first bought early in 2024. The new owner faced personal issues, leading to the quick resale.
Last autumn, the hotel was listed for £950,000 and sold fast. It features 30 en-suite bedrooms and sits on seven acres near the River Cleddau.
Originally a local Rectory, parts of the hotel date back to the 13th century. It includes a reception hall, a spacious restaurant, a three-sided bar, and a commercial kitchen.
There are also 120 parking spaces, a function room, an orangery, and guest lounges. The hotel has planning permission for 20 more bedrooms and a leisure area.
Christie & Co handled both sales. Sam Roberts, the hotel senior business agent, expressed gratitude to the owners for their trust in the sale.
Funding for the buyer came from Christie Finance. Consultant Tamara Ryan said it was a privilege to support the new owners, who have big plans for the hotel.
