Chicago: The Bears really took a beating in their first game after firing head coach Matt Eberflus. Caleb Williams, the rookie quarterback, had a rough outing, and it’s got everyone wondering what’s next for him and the team.

Williams fumbled in the third quarter, and while he owned up to it, you could tell he was a bit hesitant at first. He said the timing was off, which led to the fumble. That mistake was just one of many for the Bears in a 38-13 loss to the 49ers.

Before that fumble, the Bears were already struggling. They had a mere 4.9% chance of winning, and after the turnover, it dropped to 1.7%. Ouch! It was a tough day for the team, especially with only four yards in the first half, their worst showing since 1991.

Interim coach Thomas Brown didn’t sugarcoat it either. He said, “We got our butts kicked,” and he was right. The Bears couldn’t convert on third downs and allowed too many big plays on defense. Williams took seven sacks, making him the most sacked player in the league.

Things looked a bit better in the second half when the Bears finally got a touchdown, but that fumble really killed their momentum. Williams admitted that losing the ball was a big blow, especially when they were trying to get back in the game.

Despite the loss, there were some positives. Williams showed he could take responsibility, and the team did manage to put together a decent drive. But they need to work on their execution and communication moving forward.

Brown is focused on improving the game plan and keeping the team unified. He knows they need to step up if they want to turn things around. The Bears have a long way to go, but at least they’re showing some fight.
