Chicago: So, the Bears just had their chat with Mike McCarthy. They announced it on Wednesday. McCarthy had to wait until his deal with the Cowboys was up before he could meet with other teams.
He’s also set to talk with the Saints soon. During his time with the Cowboys, he had a decent record of 49-35. He even had three straight seasons with 12 wins from 2021 to 2023. But, only one playoff win in that time? Ouch! Last season, the Cowboys struggled with injuries and ended up 7-10.
Before the Cowboys, McCarthy was with the Packers from 2006 to 2018 and even snagged a Super Bowl win. The Bears have been busy interviewing a bunch of candidates, including their interim coach Thomas Brown and former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.
They’ve also talked to several coordinators from other teams. Plus, they’re looking to chat with some college coaches and other NFL coordinators. It’s a big decision for them, and they’re casting a wide net!
