Chicago: The Bears just wrapped up an interview with David Shaw, who used to coach at Stanford. He’s been in the game for a while and has a solid track record.
Shaw, 52, led Stanford from 2011 to 2022, racking up a 96-54 record and snagging three Pac-12 titles. Before that, he was an NFL assistant with teams like the Eagles and Ravens.
He joined the Broncos in June 2024, but now the Bears are looking at him for their head coaching gig. They’ve also chatted with a bunch of other candidates, including interim coach Thomas Brown and former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.
They’re casting a wide net, having reached out to coaches from various teams, including Iowa State’s Matt Campbell and Vikings’ Brian Flores. It’s a busy time for the Bears as they try to find the right fit for their future.
