Surrey: Parts of Surrey could see up to 15 hours of snow. BBC Weather says freezing temperatures and light snow are expected this week.
Snow is likely to start on Sunday, February 9. It will begin around 7pm in Haslemere, with other areas getting snow later. Reigate may see snow at 8pm, Guildford and Woking at 9pm, and Weybridge at 10pm.
Light snow and wind are forecasted during this time. Freezing temperatures of 1C or 0C will help the snow stick around. The snow may continue into Monday morning, February 10.
In Haslemere, flurries could last until 10am, giving 15 hours of snowfall. Guildford may see snow until 9am, while Woking, Reigate, and Weybridge could have snow until 6am. More snow might come Monday evening, along with some sleet.
This forecast is long-term, so things could change. The Met Office hasn’t provided daily updates yet but is considering the possibility of cold weather.
From February 7 to February 16, the Met Office predicts high pressure will bring drier conditions to southern and eastern UK. This could lead to overnight frost and fog with slightly below-normal temperatures.
There’s also a low chance of much colder weather developing, which could bring wintry showers to some areas.
