Cardiff: Fans of The Traitors have been buzzing about what really goes on behind the scenes, especially when it comes to the players who get “murdered.” It’s a wild concept, right?

In the show, the Traitors can eliminate players by sending them to their doom. They gather in a turret, all cloaked up, and decide who to take out. The unlucky player then heads to a room to get a letter that seals their fate.

But there’s also the Round Table banishment, where everyone votes out who they think is a Traitor. The one with the most votes gets booted, and it can lead to some pretty emotional moments.

With all the secrecy, viewers are left scratching their heads about how the murders work. Recently, Meryl Williams, a winner from the first UK series, opened up about the “confusing” process.

Meryl, who won alongside Aaron Evans and Hannah Byczkowski, shared how they managed to oust the last Traitor, Wilfred Webster, and split the prize money. In a chat with Betway, she explained how the whole murder thing goes down.

She said, “When the Traitors decide to kill someone, they go to the turret. I never saw it since I wasn’t a Traitor, but from what Wilfred and Alyssa told me, we all head home while they stay back.”

“The Traitors’ cars leave but then do a U-turn back to the castle. They decide who gets murdered right there. Before breakfast, everyone has a one-on-one interview on camera, kind of like Big Brother’s diary room. That’s when the ‘murdered’ player gets their letter. I thought I was getting the boot a few times before breakfast, which was super confusing!”

The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer
