Edinburgh: A shocking story is coming to light in a new BBC documentary. It’s about a guy named Christopher Harkins, who really took advantage of women on dating apps.

The show, called Disclosure: Matched with a Predator, is set to air in January. It dives into the crimes he committed and how he was finally caught.

Harkins, 38, was a master manipulator. He pretended to be this charming, successful guy, but he was anything but that. He targeted smart, attractive women, making them believe he was the perfect match.

But behind that facade, he was a violent criminal. He was convicted of raping one of his former partners and filming two women without their consent. It’s just awful.

The documentary will share the stories of his victims and their struggles to get justice. Many of them felt ignored when they first reported him to the police.

One woman, a financial professional, lost over £16,000 to Harkins. He convinced her he had a currency exchange business and promised to pay her back. Instead, he vanished with her money.

She even paid for a luxury holiday to Greece that he never booked. It’s heartbreaking to think about how he manipulated her trust.

Harkins was sentenced to 12 years in prison and is now on the sex offenders register. He’s also been banned from contacting his victims.

Don’t miss Disclosure: Matched with a Predator when it airs on BBC One Scotland at 8pm on January 20. It’s going to be eye-opening.
