London: Battersea is gearing up for its annual Light Festival, and it’s going to be a blast! Starting January 23 and running until February 23, the iconic power station will be lit up with some amazing art.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the festival, and it’s free to attend! You’ll get to see eight unique installations from both British and international artists, both inside and outside the power station.

Some of the highlights include an interactive musical light sculpture inspired by how plants get pollinated. There’s also a special ‘Aurora’ piece made just for the Art Deco Turbine Hall. Plus, there’s a fun horse-shaped installation that lights up when you hop on it!

To kick things off, there will be special performances in Power Station Park and on Electric Boulevard on January 23, 25, and 26. It’s a great way to enjoy the atmosphere and get into the festive spirit.

And if you’re feeling peckish, there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. You can grab a bite at places like Dishoom, Sticks ‘n’ Sushi, or even Wright Brothers for some seafood.

Kate Boothman-Meier from the Battersea Power Station Development Company shared her excitement, saying the festival is one of their most popular events. She’s thrilled to showcase four installations making their UK debut this year.

It’s a fantastic way to kick off a big year for Wandsworth, which has been named the London Borough of Culture for 2025. So, mark your calendars and get ready for some dazzling lights!
