Grimsby: So, there was this wild incident involving a banned rider. Zane French, who got disqualified back in June, was caught doing wheelies on his motorcycle. Can you believe it? Just six months after he was banned!
He had a pretty rough past, too. French was banned for ramming a van multiple times and causing damage to other cars last year. Fast forward to November 2, and he was spotted riding on the footpath, almost hitting a pedestrian. Talk about reckless!
Things took a turn when he crashed into a Mini on Town Hall Street, just a stone’s throw from the court. He fell off the bike right there! When the police caught up with him, he was like, “Let me go. You’ve got me now.”
In court, he admitted to driving without care, while disqualified, and without insurance. They even showed CCTV footage of him zooming through town. The prosecutor explained that he had a suspended prison sentence from June, which included a community order and a curfew.
His lawyer mentioned that he had been sticking to the curfew and had almost completed all his requirements. He even claimed to have stopped drinking. The judge noted how lucky he was not to have been hurt in the crash.
In the end, he got a 12-month community order and a £250 fine for breaching his suspended sentence. Plus, he’s banned from driving for another year. What a mess!
