Hartlepool: A driver who was banned from the road got caught using his phone while driving. Robert Thompson, 29, was pulled over by the police in his Citroen.
It all went down on a Wednesday morning last October. The cops noticed him on Seaton Lane and decided to follow him with their lights flashing.
When they stopped him, they found out he was disqualified from driving. Not only that, but he also didn’t have insurance. He admitted to the charges in court.
The judge, Marie Mallon, didn’t take it lightly. She said it was a serious matter, especially since he ignored the disqualification. He was putting himself and others at risk.
In the end, he got a 12-week prison sentence, but it was suspended for a year. He also has to do some rehabilitation days and pay a fine. Plus, he’s banned from driving for a year.
