Vale: A little feral pigeon made quite the entrance at the Vale Wildlife Hospital on December 14. This tiny bird weighed only 130 grams when it arrived.
It had a few minor injuries but is bouncing back nicely. The staff say it’s much more active now after some good care.
They shared an update on Facebook, saying, “Someone has a friend.” The little guy is doing well and even has some company now.
They mentioned that the pigeon is self-feeding like a champ. They promised to keep everyone posted on its progress.
In 2024, the hospital has rescued over 8,000 wild animals, which is a record for them since they opened more than 40 years ago.
When the pigeon first came in, they noted it had fallen 30 feet from its nest. Luckily, it only had a few grazes and some swelling on its elbow, which they’re keeping an eye on.
Now, it’s found its voice and is much more lively after just a couple of days in care. It’s great to see such a happy ending!
